Project description

The project comprised replacing two Potterton Derwent commercial floor standing gas fired condensing boilers. This project presented a challenge as the old cast iron sectional boilers were situated in a roof top plantroom and were originally craned in before the roof was installed. In order to carry out the work safely the old boilers had to be broken down into individual sections and moved down the staircase using a stair climber. The boilers were then replaced with two Potterton Sirius floor standing gas fired condensing boilers which had to be taken up the stairs again using the stair climber. The existing flue systems no longer complied with manufacturer’s instructions and therefore had to be replaced with two new stainless steel flue systems installed through the roof.
